Making a decision on how you will feed your baby?
This class, taught by a registered lactation consultant, discusses the benefits of breastfeeding for
both mom and baby and offers practical information to help get breastfeeding off to a good start.
Bring your spouse or a support person! Class registration is encouraged during last trimester if possible.
Fee:
The Breastfeeding Class is free with a full $50 full payment for Childbirth Classes.
If you take the Breastfeeding Class by itself or with a Refresher Class, the fee is $10.

Parents will learn the art of infant massage and be guided through instruction on how to
massage their own babies. Instructional book and massage oil will be provided. Bring a soft
comfortable blanket, a small towel and normal baby gear, such as a special toy. Stimulated
babies can get hungry so be prepared to feed. Dress baby in easy to remove clothing. We might
be sitting on carpet so bring a pillow to sit on.

Health Care Provider Course
(BLS with AED)BLS for Healthcare Providers is designed for the licensed healthcare professional.
The curriculum includes; relief of Foreign-Body Airway Obstruction in responsive victims, bag mask
ventilation, rescue breathing with mouth-to-mouth and mouth-to-barrier device ventilation, use of an
AED for adults and children, and 2 rescuer CPR.
HeartSaver AED
HeartSaver AED is designed for lay responders who are serving as rescuers as part of their job responsibilities.
This could include daycare providers, police, firefighters, lifeguards, etc. This course covers CPR, relief Foreign-Body
Airway Obstruction and use of an AED.
CPR for Family & Friends
This time efficient course is designed to meet the needs of lay rescuers who are learning CPR to protect family members, friends, and coworkers. This course prepares lay rescuers to perform CPR and relief Foreign-Body Airway Obstruction in adult, child and infant. This is a non-certification class.
HeartSaver First Aid & Adult CPR/AED
HeartSaver First Aid and Adult CPR/AED course is designed to meet the needs of a lay responder who must perform adult CPR, relief of Foreign-Body Airway Obstruction, use of an AED, and first aid.
HeartSaver Pediatric First Aid & CPR
HeartSaver Pediatric First Aid and CPR is designed to meet the needs of a lay responder who must perform pediatric CPR, relief of Foreign-Body Airway Obstruction, use of an AED and first aid.

Diabetes Education
Our Diabetes Education Center helps people with diabetes learn more about the disease, how to
control it, and how to live with it while maintaining their high quality of life.
We are proud that our program has achieved the status of being recognized by the American Diabetes
Association since 2001. This designation recognizes programs that meet the highest standards in diabetes
care and education.
How we can help A Registered Dietician and a Registered Nurse -- both Certified Diabetes Educators --
teach self-care management techniques to achieve blood glucose control that may help delay or prevent the
onset of diabetes related complications.
Diet instruction People with diabetes have to take extra care with diet and exercise to help manage their blood glucose levels. Our registered dietician will provide the information you need to manage your diabetes and live a healthy, active life.
Glucose monitoring and insulin administration Keeping your blood glucose in your target range can help prevent or delay the complications. Our Certified Diabetes Educator help you determine a plan to help manage your diabetes. For individuals who require insulin, we’ll teach you how to how to monitor your glucose and administer insulin
Insulin pump therapy Unlike injections which deliver a large amount of insulin at one time, insulin pumps deliver insulin continuously throughout the day. Our staff has specialized training in the Medtronic MiniMed insulin pump therapy, and our Certified Diabetes Educators can assist you with pump training and ongoing management.
Hospitalized patient assessment Hospitals patients with diabetes must address special challenges related to illness, changes in medications, and erratic meal schedules. The Diabetes Education Center ensures that patients' care plans work with their medical plan, not against it.
Group education program (Type 2 Diabetes) This four-session program provides the tools needed to successfully manage this chronic disease. Classes start every other week and are accessed through a health care provider’s referral (necessary for insurance reimbursement.)
Diabetes Support Group This group meets from September through May. Here's the calendar of meeting times and topics.
